Eddie is now performing in the U.S. National Tour of The Book of Mormon where he is in the ensemble and understudying Elder Cunningham. Since moving to New York in April 2018 (a dream come true!), Eddie has played the role of Jesse Tuck in Tuck Everlasting at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley (dir. Robert Kelley). He was also in the Lab for Jerry Mitchell’s new musical Becoming Nancy. Back in Australia he performed the role of Elder Thomas in The Book of Mormon in Melbourne as part of the original Australian cast. After performing in the show for over a year he decided to pursue his dream and move to New York! Best known for his portrayal of Boq in Wicked (a performance which won him the Broadwayworld.com Philippines People's Choice Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical). He performed the role throughout Asia and Australia. He graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). In his final year of studies there, he was poached by Sydney Theatre Company to play Georg in the Original Australian Cast of the Tony Award Winning Musical Spring Awakening. He then went on to star as Luke in the critically acclaimed revival of Australian Musical Prodigal. He also won the Sydney Fringe Award for Best Performance as Jon in John & Jen (a work he also produced). He then had the pleasure of working opposite Australian legend Trevor Ashely in his award-winning show Liza (on an E) in both the prestigious Adelaide Cabaret Festival and the return season at Melbourne’s Hi-fi Room. Next came the Helpmann Award Winner for Best Musical in 2013, Legally Blonde where he played the role of Kiki, directed by Jerry Mitchell.
He won the Production Company Award in the Rob Guest Endowment. This scholarship took him to study in New York with the best pedagogues Broadway has to offer, including Liz Caplan, Joan Lader and Craig Carnellia. He is also the 2014 recipient of the coveted Major Fellowship in the Mike Walsh Fellowship. Eddie also writes his own cabarets and in 2009 won the Inaugural Julie Michael Cabaret Prize for best Cabaret for his work Frau Fangus’ Revenge.
Television appearances include singing solo on Chanel 7’s The Morning Show, as well as appearances on Sunrise for both Legally Blonde and Spring Awakening, New Years Eve Broadcasts and several television commercials.
As a Director, Eddie has lent his skills to Hats Off! for OzShowbiz Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and Wicked Sings for Brisbane Youth Services. He served as Associate Director on the Australian Tour of Heathers and Workshop Assistant Director for Australian musical Kings of the Air. He also produced a sellout production of William Finn's Elegies at Melbourne's famous Bennet's Lane Jazz Club.
